I am a Brazilian humanist with a bias toward building.

My work is focused primarily on artificial intelligence and software systems; my broader intellectual interest is civilization — how ideas become institutions, institutions become incentives, and incentives, over time, become everyday reality.

I believe one of the great problems of our generation is learning to build increasingly intelligent systems without becoming intellectually smaller in the process. Technology rarely remains just technology for very long; sooner or later, it becomes economics, politics, culture, and part of the environment in which we learn to think.

I am interested in understanding the structures we inherit, deciding which deserve to survive, and helping build part of what comes next.
